Extra Wide Shoji

David creates an illusion of spaciousness by covering this narrow doorway with an eye-catching extra wide shoji panel. Close-up of stainless steel barn door hardware, custom made for this project is shown.

Size: 5’ wide x 8’ tall. Installation: 1 panel, outside mount, sliding on exposed barn door track. This 1/1/8” thick panel fits tight to wall, so the hallway is not cramped. Even oversized, Design Shoji panels are flat.

We work hard to make your panel fit the scale of your room. All stiles, rails and grid are made bigger for panel strength, but not so big that it feels like a heavy door.

We really liked the interplay of light and shadow on the shoji. What a beautiful way to enhance this space.
