Sliding shoji doors and bifold passthrough panels allow for flexible space division in this tasting room. These sliding doors disappear into end wall pockets when not needed. Top tracks are recessed into the ceiling to emphasize the clean lines of the soffit. In this high-use area, we used narrow-grooved track recessed into the floor, to safeguard against tripping and allow easy ADA access. Floor track was preset so tile could be laid out around it. The grid design on the shoji doors echoes the floor tile dimensions.

Similarly, the grid design on the passthrough shoji mimic the square openings of the under counter wine racks. Coordinating with existing proportions and wood colors made the shoji fit in perfectly in this setting. A durable, scrubbable insert was used in lieu of delicate rice paper to complete this shoji project.
