Ten
Reasons to choose DESIGN SHOJI 1. Custom shoji panels are all we make - to the trade only since 1982. Nearly thirty years of experience to better serve you. 2. Award-winning craftsmanship & designs - W.E.S and ADEX awards for excellence in quality design and craftsmanship. No other manufacturer has this distinction for shoji panels. 3. Select hardwoods - We look for woods uniquely suited for building shoji panels - a uniform, tight vertical grain for exceptional stability over time, regardless of changes in temperature and humidity. The slow growing exotic hardwoods we favor also resist dents and scratches, yielding a superior looking panel even after years of hard use. We want your panels to look just as good years from now as the day they were first installed. In addition, the high density of the woods we use allow us to incorporate fine millwork details into the panels, such as routed hand pulls, end pocket pulls, and astragals. Great care is taken to use woods which are certified and monitored by the countries they originate from for sustainable harvesting practices. 4. Unique, premium inserts - room darkening, acoustic liners, semi-transparent inserts, laminated translucent papers and fabrics, hand-batiked fabrics, laminated rice paper / glass, handwoven grasses -- our unique collection keeps growing. Need something more unusual? How about metallic inserts, recycled papers, hi-tech acrylic laminations, or weatherproof exterior materials. Our selection is unparalleled. 5. Versatility - Traditional Japanese designs, Art Deco motifs, Southwestern patterns, Frank Lloyd Wright inspired grids. Contemporary high tech and custom layouts - we DESIGN panels to work with your interior. 6. Quality - details make the difference. Expansion joints in the frames, routed pulls, center splines, astragals, concealed hardware, eased edges, hand-planed grids -- you can feel as well as see the difference in a Design Shoji panel. We build your panels to last a lifetime, with furniture quality finishes, even automotive paint finishes can be specified. 7. Shop drawings for approval before construction - every project has a site specific measuring guide / shop drawing provided before final panel assembly to make sure we understand your specific situation. 8. Guaranteed delivery dates - we promise to deliver your panels as scheduled. Period. 9. Proven track record - unsolicited client testimonials tell our story best. 10. Supporting member - Foundation for Design Integrity - we support
protection of all original designs and the advancement of ethical
business practices - let's work together to strengthen our industry! |
HOW TO ORDER: |
Please call, fax or e-mail us with your area measurements for an immediate quote. All we need is the width and height of the area you would like the panels to cover. If you would like your shoji to stack on the wall beside the opening, the width of the wall area is also helpful. Photos, plans or a quick sketch of your opening are all helpful if you have them. Don't worry if your sketch isn't to scale; a drawing just helps us understand your application better. For shipping costs, please include your zip code. SAMPLES: For a complete set of wood and insert samples as well as measuring/installation details, send $25.00 ($35.00 outside US) to request our Specifier Packet. This includes samples of our 12 different wood finishes, 13 translucent inserts, 3 pages of grid styles and hardware options. Designers and Architects can see our shoji doors at the trade-only showrooms in Dallas and Houston:
For our out-of-state clients who are not near the Texas showrooms, please inquire about our Memo sample program. |
